Aggregate Programming Methods
There are several methods to create tool paths for angled, 2 way and 4 way aggregates right angel aggregates.
Some Cad/Cam systems use aggregate definition macros that graphically define the direction the aggregate is pointing (polar adjust) as well as define the gauge length from spindle center to the collet and finally the Tool length via a tool table in the CAM system.
These type of Cad/Cam systems require that all variables are carefully tested by the operator, programmer, and post processor operator since the internal post processor must have the correct data for machining, drill and other machine functions.
This guide focuses on an aggregate programming method using G43 and G44 offset and the G18 and G19 workplanes and the 5001 parameter setting in your Fanuc control to set the distance from the center of the spindle to the aggregate collet. G43 and G44 functions provide the tool length and backoff distance to the G18 workplane or G19 workplane.
