Onion skinning a CNC part requires cutting to a depth on the part to leave a material skin that leaves the part in place. This type of procedure is used to maintain maximum vacuum holding on small, difficult-to-hold parts. This process allows a CNC programmer to maintain maximum feedrates and eliminate poorly dimensioned or rejected parts.
