Diagnosing a Ballscrew

Troubleshooting

This guide is to assist in determining if the ballscrew needs replacing.

Potential symptoms include:

Abnormal Noise
Motor Overload
Positioning Accuracy
Small flakes of metal stuck in the lubrication on the screw (will look like glitter)
Tip:
wearing a clean latex glove, wipe the tip of your finger into the helix of the screw getting all the way down to the bottom of the groove. Look at it under good light and maybe magnified with your phones's camera, etc. to inspect. The glitter should catch the light if its there.
