Purpose, Scope & Safety

Purpose

This procedure explains how to shut down the Acculube/UNIST Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) oil delivery on an Anderson router and purge residual MQL solution from the through‑spindle line using the M268 (SPINDLE ACCULUBE ENABLE) function.

Scope

Applicable to Anderson routers with a UNIST/Acculube MQL module located near the Z‑axis. Covers machines with external MQL only (one pump) and machines with both internal and external MQL (two pumps).

Safety Precautions

- Only trained operators or maintenance personnel should perform this procedure.

- Follow your facility’s lockout/tagout (LOTO) rules when required.

- Wear safety glasses and gloves; MQL mist/air can blow debris and oil.

- Keep the spindle stopped during the purge unless OEM instructions require rotation.

- Keep hands clear of moving axes; use a safe position and keep the emergency stop accessible.

- Use absorbent pads to catch oil and clean any slip hazards immediately.

Required Items

- Absorbent pads or rags

- Shop towel for wipe‑down

- Optional: empty toolholder/collet setup to direct through‑spindle air/mist into a pad
